If you look up the meaning of The Color Pink you'll find the following. Pink, a delicate color that means sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness. It is also associated with bubble gum, flowers, babies, cotton candy, sweetness, sunsets, and girls.
Spiritually... the color pink signifies caring, compassion and love. It stands for unconditional love and understanding, and is associated with giving and receiving care. In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope and compassion. It is a positive color that inspires warm and comforting feelings. Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, and can have a calming effect on the nervous system. Can you recall the last time you saw a pink sunset? How did it make you feel?
Emotionally... the color pink puts people in touch with the nurturing and caring side of themselves. It can go both ways... through either the need to receive or the need to give, nurture, love, and provide TLC. Pastel pink- the original color used in the breast cancer awareness ribbon is also thought to be health giving. It's no wonder the color pink was chosen to represent Breast Cancer Awareness. These days you may notice a deeper shade of pink ribbon being used as well. (In case you are wondering... The deeper the pink, the more passion and energy it exhibits.) But the message is still the same... The Pink Ribbon is an international symbol of Breast Cancer Awareness. It represents hope for the future, awareness, and the goodness of people and businesses that support the breast cancer movement.
We can all agree that the color pink is pretty powerful... especially, throughout the month of October. So why limit wearing Pink, caring for others, sharing our stories, and raising awareness for Breast Cancer to one month? There are ways many ways that you can continue to spread the word, donate, and raise awareness with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can Shop Pink and Save Lives year round. I even found some cute accessories to go with my pink Liquido leggings. (Fashionistas & shopaholics beware!) They also have some really great fundraising events you can attend, like the Annual Hamptons Paddle and Party for Pink and the Auto Nation Cure Bowl. Check out www.bcrf.org for more info. By simply spreading the word... Together we can Be Powerful and #BeTheEnd of Breast Cancer.
