Here’s my concise list of things to do now before the holiday season starts and the crazy begins…
1. Take a moment to plan your calendar appropriately and mark off a time that you’re going to do these next steps methodically.
2. Schedule from 30 minutes to 90 minutes of exercise (I prefer yoga) in your day. You want to make sure you plan in advance all the extra munchies you’ll have. Plus, you’ll get in a good routine prior to the vacation time so the break in routine is less.

3. Schedule 15 - 30 minutes every morning to read and reflect on something higher for yourself. This time of year with family coming together can create a lot of stress for people.
4. Go through each room in your house and at least throw away 5 things from each room you don’t need.
5. Go through each room in your house and rearrange or organize 5 things from each room that have been bothering you for months.
6. Go through your phone and delete all the photos that are extra and pointless.
7. Create a folder on your phone for photos labeled “Holidays 2018” so you can start organizing them as of now for social media posts, future printing or slideshow possibilities.

8. As you start to decorate your house throw away or give away old decorations that you won’t use anymore. If you haven’t used it in 2 years, you won’t use it. Move on!
9. Make sure you are clear as to where your highest duties lie because there will be many events, family and friends who want your time. So if you haven’t learned it yet in your life, make this holiday season the time to learn how to say “No” in a polite yet direct way.
10. Take on the mentality that the holidays are just like any other time of year which means they are a combination of days chunked together. The only difference is our expectations. Drop the expectations and you’ll just be living one day at a time. Holidays (and every day) are for fun and love, not stress and chaos… ideally. So let’s find that higher ideal this year.
